CASTEL is a prototype realized by four Universities from Germany, Spain, Poland and Wales, and funded by the LEONARDO programme. The four Universities can be reached at:

CASTEL is a multimedia specialised language learning programme for environmental and process engineers. Target languages are German, English, Spanish and Polish. Language level is upper intermediate, and the target group is skilled engineering professionals. Language skills which are to be improved troughout the game include reading, writing and listening. The ultimate goal is to suit professionals with sufficient competences in the foreign target language in order to fulfill typical engineering tasks in a foreign country.

The whole CASTEL programme contains four monolingual modules, one for each target language. Each module contains one engineering project as a language-learning vehicle.
The programme, intended to be thought of as a learning game, has two separate parts:

A multimedia part, where the player moves through a virtual world, dialogs with different people and solves the problems that arise A more traditional, text-oriented part, intended to improve the player´s vocabulary and grammar
