POSIX 1003.1c (pthreads) support is available for IRIX 6.2 as a
group of patches.  I believe the numbers are 1361, 1367, and 1429.
Contact your SGI rep and ask for them.

REACT/pro Real-Time Extensions to IRIX 
IRIX 6.2 contains kernel enhancements for the support of real-time
programming and guaranteed interrupt latencies. Posix 1003.1c
threads (pthreads), the industry standard for multithreaded programming, are
supported as part of the REACT/pro 3.0 product for IRIX 6.2. Pthreads will
offer an alternative to the more mature sproc interface, which is also
included in IRIX 6.2. 



We recently applied the patches to support posix threads on Irix 6.2
on all our r5k Indy machines; the patches were the following:

	patchSG0001367
